Nothing beats the feeling of being at home. People often use the line home-sweet-home to describe it but sweet is not the only thing felt when at home. Nothing feels like home because of the mentality that one is safest in his home. This is why safety measures are the top concern in every house.
Safety issues at home can range from accidents to crimes. But most measures are about accident proofing your home and this may vary depending on the presence of children. In general, accident precautions are about storing away materials that can start a fire and fixing faulty electrical wirings. Children should not have any access to flammable material or electric plugs. Plastic fillers that are inserted in electric plugs and sockets will also be helpful in preventing children from inserting anything in the electric sockets.
Besides fire, sharp objects are also frequent cause of accidents at home. If there is a child or children in the house, store away the cutlery set in a sealed container and/or locate this in the hanging drawers instead of the pull out drawers below the sink. Also, never expose to the children the location of these sharp objects, hence, never ask them to look or get these things for you.
